UKDiggers announce new £1 million deal with Hanix Europe
UKDiggers and HanixHanix Europe Ltd is proud to announce
the arrival of UK Diggers to their ever expanding
UK business market. With their headquarters
based in the Midlands, UK Diggers have
an increasingly strong presence in the
hire market and future plans indicate
further success pending several new
depots and UK wide expansion
commencing 2007.

As a young and progressive company,
UK Diggers' success lies in their core
values and business principles which
in turn are echoed by Hanix Europe.
Wayne Smith, Director of UK Diggers
says: “Our success is based on high
quality of service, reliability, back up support and most importantly a team that cares about their customers needs. Hanix has very similar beliefs to us
– they offer strong reliable machines to the high standards we expect, coupled with excellent
support & service from their team”.

UK Diggers are looking at opening initial business lines worth approximately £1million with Hanix Europe.

Director of Hanix, Darren Riley says: “We are delighted with our new relationship with
UK Diggers. We have a fresh approach to the industry, which is reflecting in our expanding
customer base, but the fabric of our company is still based on traditional values. (Recently
we have been through a few changes regarding our internal management structure but our
team has come through this stronger and more focused than ever, which is a testament to our staff).

“Our philosophy is simple – quality Japanese products, quality customer support, and
quality people which equal quality choice. Our customers embrace this open and friendly approach,
and regularly comment on quality of our service – any issues are resolved personally & professionally
by a member of the team. 80% of our operation has worked within Hanix for an average of 15 years
and many of these people have learnt the industry from a grass roots level. Each and every member
of our team has a mutual desire to achieve our goals – and experience like this cannot be bought.”

UKDiggers sponsor Burton Albion FC

UK Diggers once again showed their confidence
in East Midlands sport after sponsoring Burton
Albion's FA Cup 3 rd round game against Manchester United.
Burton Albion are currently in dreamland after securing a
richly deserved FA Cup 3rd round replay against the mighty
Manchester United at the Pirelli Stadium in front of an enthralled wordwide television audience watching on Sky Sports and a
ground record 6,191 spectators packed inside the ground.
United were famously held to a 0-0 draw at the same stage
last season when Albion's Conference rivals Exeter City
went to Old Trafford and earned a replay but this time the
Brewers have to look forward to a trip to the Theatre of
Dreams on Wednesday week. Make no mistake, this
was no 90 minute rearguard action and Albion had
chances to have even won the game, even seeing what seemed like a blatant penalty denied them
when Gerard Pique handled just inside the box but bizarrely, referee Howard Webb deemed that
Shaun Harrad had been backing into the former Barcelona youngster with television replays
suggesting that it was a very harsh decision indeed.

Derby UKD RFC on a Festive High
Derby UKD enters the festive period on a high note as
they are currently second in the league at the half way
point. Played 12 and won 10, seems like a good position
to be in but Director of Rugby, Mark Bradley is hoping his
side can avert the usual New Year traditions in order to
keep their promotion bid on track.

The month of January is often the time of year sides slip
up as they try to get back into the swing of things following
the festive break.

But, with Derby already having suffered two defeats in
their quest for Powergen Midlands Two East glory, Bradley is determined they finish the campaign
with no further slips.

Bradley commented "It's a tall order but we have to win every game between now and the end of the
season. If we don't we could find ourselves relying on other results and I don't want to be in that situation."

With clashes against title rivals South Leicester and Peterborough still to come, Derby 's destiny is
still in their own hands. But, as Loughborough Students proved last month, other teams could have
a significant impact on where the title rests.

Special mentions for the first half of the season must go to new Kiwi signing Andrew Congalton who
is the leagues highest scorer with 181 points so far, also Alex Preece who has 10 tries and Lisiate
Tafa who is currently on 7.

29th October 2007

Rugby Union adopts a global flavour at Derby RFC this week with the arrival
of the Tongan national team.

The South Pacific island's British-based stars are spending a day at Haslams Lane , backed by the club's main sponsors, UK Diggers, as part of their preparations for Tests against Italy and France next month.

Prior to their daunting battles with the Six Nations sides, Tonga will be
warming up with games against Oxford and Newbury as part of their
two-week stay in the UK .

Coached by former Australian World Cup winner Willie Ofahengaue, the Tongans are expected to stage a two-hour training session on Thursday afternoon, followed by a further session alongside Derby 's first-team squad under floodlights in the evening.

John Widdowson, coach of Midlands One side Burton was appointed as the first-ever UK and European Liaison Officer by the Tongan RFU earlier in the year and has been assisting the players during their stay and will be helping out over the coming days.

"It will be an opportunity for people to meet a World Cup winner in Willie, as well as see how an international team prepare for tests," said Widdowson.

"It's the first major task I've had since taking on the post for the Tongan RFU and it's been a bit hectic but it's
got to be a good thing mixing with international rugby players."

After their stay in the UK , the Tongan squad will transfer to Europe where they will meet up with team-mates currently playing on the continent.

Derby UKD head coach Mark Bradley, whose side currently boast two Tongan A internationals in centres Richard Tafa and Filini Mafi, said he was looking forward to the opportunity of watching the Tongans at work.

He believes it lends further support to the belief that Derby is a fast-growing club with the facilities to match the needs of top-level rugby.

"I think it's great that an international side are coming to Derby ," he said.

"It shows that the club have the facilities to cope with this kind of event and the club's junior players have a great chance to see international players on their doorstep.

"But it will also be good for the players and myself as a coach to watch their coaching sessions and see if we can pick up some useful tips."

Wayne Smith, of UK Diggers, added: "We're very happy to be helping the Tongans with their tour."

The Tongan squad are expected to hold their afternoon training session at Haslams Lane between 3-5pm on Thursday before a further session with Derby UKD's players starting at around 7pm.

Any rugby fans wishing to watch are welcome. For up-to-date information on training session times contact Derby
RFC on 01332 344341.

Derby UKD on the Rise
Derby UKD made it 4 out of 5 at the weekend with an impressive 20-6 win against old rivals Mansfield. Both teams were relegated from Midlands 1 last season and both were out to prove a point. With Derby UKD making some big signings over the summer the team's skill and determination showed as Derby stretched away with a comfortable win. The weekend win now puts UKD in a strong position of 2 nd in the table equal on points with league leaders South Leicester .

UK Digger's sponsor JJL Racing

This weekend UK Diggers were
proud to sponsor JJL Racing at
the 2007 Bennetts British Superbike
Championship & Superbike Cup at
Donnington Race Track. The weekend
proved to be a massive success as
JJL rider Danny Beaumount recorded
a 2 nd and a 3 rd in the privateers race.

In 2004, after competing in road racing
for five years and the British Supersport
Championship for two years, Lloyd Hopkinson
decided to hang up his leathers and
concentrate his efforts on team management.
With the expertise of engine tuner Nikki Kennedy and Chief Technician Steve Metcalf a winning combination
was forged.  Immediately, a two year plan was hatched.  Part one was to win the British Superstock title,
and with three race victories amid nine podium finishes that was achieved.  The next step is the graduation
into the British Superbike Cup and challenging for that crown.  The team has retained the service of Danny Beaumont who took them to Superstock glory.

Derby UKD off on the right foot

This weekend UK Diggers were the official match sponsor for the first home league
game as well as the first Midlands 1 league game at Haslams Lane. A good crowd
gathered with the changing of the club's Vice-Presidents day along with the ever
present local support. The game against Whitchurch was a much anticipated game
as it would be Derby UKD's first real test against a well established Midlands 1 team.
The weather didn't help a free flowing game but Derby UKD were able to hold on to a
close fought battle and end up eventual winners 15 – 3.

Clearly the scores Derby UKD were running up last season are unlikely to be repeated,
but the players are showing they are more than capable of holding their own. The next
3 weeks against Dunstablians, Leicester Lions and Longton will indicate how good the
season is likely to be.

Derby UKD RFC seal biggest ever sonsorship deal

UK Diggers Howard Thacker
and Wayne Smith have pledged
to help the Club in a deal that
could be worth a substantial
amount of money over the next
2 to 3 years as the club seeks
to hopefully move onwards
to the National Leagues

The Club, which for promotional
purposes will be known as
Derby UKD Rugby Football Club,
is delighted with the new arrangement.
A launch party was held
on Thursday 26th August at Haslams with representatives from UK Diggers,
senior and junior sections of the Club plus the local media and a couple of diggers!

Club Chairman Gordon Stirling said: "The UK Diggers sponsorship deal
announced today is the largest in the history of our great Club. We are very
pleased that UK Diggers are supporting us in what we see as a very important
step in our history, benefiting as it does all areas of our activities from mini and
junior sections right through to our 1st XV Squad. Without UK Diggers support
as our new, main sponsor we would find it difficult to achieve many of our goals
including reaching the National Leagues.

The deal is set to benefit all areas of the Club and Club Coach Mark Bradley
said: "This deal will enable us to open up new avenues through their support.
It means we will be able to attract quality players and strengthen our squad not
only for the forthcoming season but also for the future. We look forward to a
good working relationship with UKDiggers and working together for success
both on and off the field.

The Mini and Junior Section will also gain from the deal. Junior Rugby Chairman
Martyn Murney said: "The involvement of a major sponsor like UK Diggers gives
tremendous support to the continued development of mini and junior rugby at Derby .
We are very proud of our achievements so far in the section and feel confident that
this extra support will help us to go on to greater things still.

Derby UKD RFC have success at Twickenham

For the second successive year Derby UKD RFC had Minis sides at Twickenham to
take part in the national mini rugby Finals Day following recent successes in
the regional Tournaments.

The day saw the U9s and U10s competing at Twickenham complete with their UK
Diggers tracksuits. First up were the Under 9's against a well organized West Norfolk side,
which saw Derby UKD as the eventual winners 15-10 and tournament winners.

Next up were the U10s who were making their second successive appearance at
Twickenham as they came to Twickenham last season when they were then U9s.
Derby UKD eventually lost in the final to a very strong outfit from Amersham & Chiltern.

The day out just shows the strength in depth at the club with an abundance of talent
pushing through the ranks. This will hopefully lead to the clubs ambition of reaching
National league recognition.
